decades ago.

     If you haven’t clicked to watch it yet, please take a few minutes to do so right now.
The entirety of this letter relates directly to this video, and references it numerous times.

     Why is the video so important? Because the same exact message and ‘call to action for
the advertising community’ that David Ogilvy counsels on in this video rings true today.

     General advertising has always been more concerned with creativity, cleverness, and
entertainment than with actual sales. And this is very wrong (unless a client wants this).

     To be 100% transparent, I have to admit something. I myself have once considered the
idea of building a large general advertising agency. The grandeur is very appealing.
But, the fact of the matter is, we are not in business for grandeur, nor for our own egos.

     I was originally educated in the world of general advertising and marketing. So I
understand this world very well. However, I was blessed to discover the world of direct

marketing results. And I built my entire practice and my group on this solid foundation,
adding to it the very best direct response advertising and marketing talent in the world.
